I just purchased a new Gen 3 POF 7.25" upper and it arrived today. It has their T rail on it, the predecessor to the MRR.

I was excited until trying to mount an optic to it. I planned to install a Meprolight TruDot RDS on this upper, and found that once instlled, the optic was loose and wobbled slightly. The Meprolight RDS has a small amount of adjustment in the clamping mechanisms, so I tightened them up a bit and still had the wobble.

So, I opened the safe and mounted the Meprolight RDS to the following rifles- gen 3 POF P308, gen 3 POF P415, Colt LE6920, Sig 556 Classic SWAT, Sig M400, and my new IWI Tavor X95. The optic mounted up solidly to every single one of these rifles.

Lastly, I decided to try mounting the optic on the left, right, and bottom rail of the T rail on the 7.25" upper. It mounted up solidly to each section. Then I placed it back on the top rail and it wobbled and was loose. So the very same rail, this optic mounts up solidly to all rail sections but the top.

I contacted POF earlier today and am waiting to hear back from them. Does this sound like an out of spec rail to you as well?

With all of the info you provided, yes. It does seem that rail is out of spec.

Sounds off. Wouldn't surprise me. I work in the industry, and I've noticed that many manufacturers are simply pumping items out as fast as they can, and quality control has been taking a nose dive.
