I know few of you will care, but it might save somebody a search.  I a have a couple of uppers (LMT, Daniel Defense) that came with M4 handguards; I built the lowers, then added Geissele triggers when they came on the market.  Didn't want to put rails on these two, and wanted to go back to "old-school" round handguards.

This ended up being quite a search for quality, and I'm glad to report these hand guards fit perfectly, and are tight as can be.  What may surprise some is I was about ready to order them from Israel, but found them at the hated by some CTD! for $11.  Got here in two days, with reasonable shipping charge.  Win-win if you are looking for IMI Defense stuff.

Anything special about the IMI hand guards when compared to the ones from manufacturers here?

What's the upside to them?

Entirely possible someone here in the U.S. makes them of the same quality.  Ones I have examined from manufacturers I do not wish to name came without heat shields, were flexy, etc.

I am old, and grew up on the originals.  Bushmaster used to have some good ones many years ago; don't trust them now.  I do not wish to denigrate U.S. manufacturers/distributors that may well have an equal product.  I just know some Israelis who say these have never broken for them.  From the packaging to the actual product, what I received reeks of quality.  Time will tell.  They look no different than the old product you'd find on a Colt, except maybe the retaining flanges a tad thicker.  They fit like a glove.
