[ARCHIVED THREAD] - .458 SOCOM upper

OK, I got a chance to buy a .458 SOCOM upper complete.

I have at this time a Colt H-BAR Match

I have been told and read that I can just replace the upper and the .223 buffer and lower will work with the .458.

Any truth to that or am I having a pipe dream

That is how i understand it. I think you can use stock mags, but they will be single stack. I am no expert on that round though.

just pin it on and you should be good to go..

Have you sourced ammo? or do you reload?

Yep, should as simple as pinning it on. Underwood has Ammo, last I checked. And yes, standard mags work.

Be careful with who built the upper. I'd suggest if you haven't done so already researching over on 458socomforums.com.
