Ok. I'm very new to the AR, and al it's parts. However I've done a LOT of research. I have however run into an issue and I can't figure it out. I have 2 ARs.

1) DPMS oracle w/commercial buffer tube
2) Diamondback DB15CCB with supposedly a MilSpec tube.

Problem I'm having.

I bought a MagPul STR MilSpec stock for my DB that supposedly has a MilSpec buffer tube. However... It WILL NOT go on. It gets stuck about 1/4 of the way on and it takes 2 people to get it back off.

So I tried the MagPul commercial stock from my DPMS and it's does go on the Diamond back, BUT it is too loose and pops off the end.

So. NEITHER MilSpec or the commercial stock fit. Do you the the STR stock I got has an issue, or is it my buffer tube? Anyone else have this issue before?

I'd bet it's going to be the DB buffer tube, the Magpul stock should be right, my STR is a snug fit on my milspec tubes, absolutely NO wiggle when it's clamped down, but nowhere near getting stuck on it.

It is pretty simple.  There is something wrong with the stock, or there is something wrong with the tube.  Try the stock on another mil-spec tube.  If it works, your tube is out whack.  Try another mil-spec stock on your tube.  If it works, the first stock is out of whack.  That is two opportunities to eliminate the other.

You can also start measuring the tube and seeing if it is out of spec.  Although it may be sold as mil-spec, DB does not have a reputation for stellar quality, so the tube may be out of dimension, or maybe it has a bulge that may not be evident until measured, or if you really look at it.  Another possibility is that it isn't the tube itself, but the guide that keeps the stock straight and where the locking pin rides.

I have 2 commercial butt stocks and they both fit over it, but easily come off without releasing the pin on the stock.  I have the "MilSpec" ati butt stock that fits it and it fit it fine. The MagPul MilSpec stock does not. However the ATI stock seems to be made with a lot of wiggle room, which is why it likely fits it.

I just went ahead and ordered a new MilSpec buffer tube and tools to switch it out

Thanks for the help

I bought it from Delta Team/Omega Manufacturing.  Heavy duty buffer tube.

I just put it on and problem solved. MagPul STR MilSpec fits perfectly
