I just purchased an ATI OMNI polymer lower and upper for a new 300 blackout build. The lower seems fine but I'm a little worried about the upper. Anyone have any expirience with these?

We've shipped thousands of these, both stripped and as complete units. Return rate is extremely low and we haven't had once come back broken or defective yet that I am aware of.
It should have come with an instruction sheet letting you know that you must use a fixture that grabs the barrel extension when assembling. Something like the Geissele Reaction Rod, or Magpul's BEV block. Using a clamshell or pin lug fixture may put too much torsional stress on the receiver. Enjoy it and let me know if you have any questions or issues. |

Thanks for the info. I was mainly concerned about how the charging handle is inserted. It does not seem to have the cutouts where the charging handle would go. I shot the lower unit yesterday with an SAA upper and it performed very well. I purchased a yankee hill barrel that I will be attaching to the upper in a week or so. I will let you know.

Well I have a lower that never made it through the 4th mag before it became a 2 piece unit, emailed you folks at the time it broke and got no response |

Since I once again never got a response , would you like to see photos of a broken one ? I'm thinking not since you folks never responded to emails about it I find it interesting that ATI jumped into the thread with a promotional post a month ago and has not been heard from since when confronted with a product user with a problem. Have you taken your posts over to their industry page? Just curious as to whether you might get more attention, there. Polymer seems great for stocks, grips and magazines. Even for folding back up sights. Not so certain that it is a good idea for upper and lower receivers with their more rigorous wear and rigidity requirements.. |

I think your trolling nuts to build a 300BO with Poly receivers... maybe a .22....I agree about a plastic upper and I wouldn't use a plastic lower for a serious/hard use rifle either. However, I have a few polymer lowers- including a 'Plum Crazy' complete lower from 5-6 yrs ago that is obviously pretty cheaply made. I only use it as a dedicated .22LR, but wouldn't be a afraid to use for a casual use Centerfire upper. Based on my experience plastic lowers are fine for average use- I got them because they were cheap and light- not as much of an issue now with $40 Anderson lowers, but still, I'm not looking to parachute into a hot zone, so plastic will be fine for many applications. |

PM me and I'll make sure we get it taken care of ASAP. |
