| So far I'm considering a B5 Enhanced SOPMOD, B5 Bravo and Magpul MOE SL. I'm open to other suggestions as well, thanks. |
| I tell you what, with my first build I went with the Magpul UBR. In my opinion that's one of the greatest stocks I've ever used. Granted, I have seen and used some of the others mentioned in this post and they are great as well. However, I have been spoiled with the UBR. It is a little heavy, however, I took off the storage door & hardware on mine and although it doesn't seem like it would, to me it seems noticeably lighter. That would be my first option, that is of course depending on your build. If you're going for lightweight specifically then maybe another option. Ergo makes another great one that is very similar to the UBR in terms of features and lock up. It has one of the longest LOP options on the market, it's almost equally as sturdy as the UBR in terms of rattle when connected to the receiver, it's a little bit lighter in weight, and the price is considerably lower. Magpul has also recently come out with the UBR stock gen2, which has some really nice features including a significant weight reduction as well as price reduction. |

Used LMT gen one.....or gen 2 if you need the QD. I scored one used in great condition for $110. The B5 enhanced SOPMOD is a much better deal, usually $75 used on the EE and they anti-rotation QD sockets. I've owned and used both, the B5 is the better stock. |

Did you read the tacked thread at the top here? Which stock is best for you? Its worth a read. Yes, that helped me arrive at these choices. I've owned BCM Gunfighter, Magpul CTR AND Magpul STR. I liked the design of the BCM, but it had a little more play than I consider acceptable, which is why I'm looking at the MOE SL. I liked the cheek weld of the STR. Is the b5 SOPMOD similar for those that have used both? Storage isn't really necessary for me, between the b5 SOPMOD and Bravo, is this the only difference? Same materials? |

I've seen an STR and B5 enhanced side by side. No question the B5. None. As far as enhanced or not...why not have an option for storage? It's $25 difference for a stock that will last through your grandkids' lives +. What's $25? |

Currently I prefer my B5 Systems Bravo SOPMOD buttstock, it's narrower in width as the Enhanced SOPMOD but slightly wider than a standard M4 waffle and CTR stocks.
Other stocks that I have are Magpul MOE, CTR, STR, Vltor EMOD, IMOD, Modstock, Modstock Clubfoot, and Colt M4 waffle. Usually I prefer narrower stocks without any storage for my lighter weight carbines, but for my heavier carbines with optics I like wider with storage stocks which steadies the head better when aiming with magnified optics. You also should consider the balance of your AR, if you have a lighter front end use a lighter stock to balance it, for heavier front use a heavier stock. |
