I'll have to admit, I didn't do my research until after the fact. So I'm curious how this will turn out.
Yesterday, I placed an order for a MAS Defense "16" 5.56 / .223 1x8 BARRELED UPPER - OMEGA 12" SERIES - BLEM". With the sale, I paid $228 shipped. The way I figure it, even if the upper is average, then I'm only out $200. This is going on a KISS/Cheap build, so I'm not looking for Tier 1 parts and pieces. Upper Receiver A4 Upper Receiver Mil-Spec Forward Assist and Ejection Door M4 Feed Ramps Black Hardcoat Anodized Mil-Std-171 Type III Precision Machined to Mil-Spec Tolerances Forged From High-Grade 7075 T6 Aluminum Barrel 16" 5.56 / .223 Barrel 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel Parkerized Finish 1x8 Twist - M4 Ramps Gas System Carbine Length - .750 Low Profile Gas Block Hand Guard Omega 12" Free Float - White T Marks on all 4 Rails Flash Hider A2 Half Cage Now in my research, I've discovered a few things: 1. MAS Defense does not manufacture anything in house. - This is fine with me, but now that the point was made, I'm curious who does manufacture the parts. 2. There are many people that claim their barrels are quality, but a few people that complain about the company in general. - Those few people that have complained and said negatives, can't show proof of anything the have ordered or own. So, I can only brush it off as BS. 3. I have yet to get charged on my credit card, nor have I received a confirmation email, and the upper is listed Out of Stock now. - No problem, for now, I know things can get swamped and this is a small shop/warehouse operation, so I will be patient. Have any of you guys dealt with them in the past, and what were your experiences? |
| I'm happy with my MAS 300 Blackout pistol upper, I ordered during holidays last year (don't remember exactly when) and if I remember correct they shipped out in about 5 business days. Disclaimer: This was my first AR pistol and first time (kind of) building an AR, so I'm no pro, though have several store bought ARs and experience shooting them. |

It's nice to hear positive things!
My credit card was charged on the 27th, but I had not received an email confirmation. I emailed them today about my order number and I received the confirmation shortly after. The upper was shipped when my card was charged, on the 27th, so now I just have to be patient

Well.....
USPS shows it "Departed Origin Facility" on the 27th, but shows no tracking history since then. I just got off the phone with USPS and they have started their investigation. The origin facility will get notified and call me back within 48-72 hours. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |
Hope it turns up for you! I ordered almost the same upper but with 15" rail during their sale. I didn't really do a ton of research before purchase either but thought the price was right for a budget build. Total I'll have around $550 in this build. Worst case I'll hold onto it until the next "black rifle" scare and sell it for 3x that!

I'm hoping it shows up. I had another package ship a day after and it showed up on Monday. So I'm curious about this one. |

I have 4 uppers from them and had zero issues. 2 on sbr's and 2 16" uppers.
Also have picked up lowers on sale and misc parts. Have about 20 orders in and only 1 issue when they sent me a better upper and I had called them to double check and was told to keep and enjoy it. They are gtg in my book for sure.! |
