Are there any good KeyMod handguards that match the BCM KMR's reputation?

KAC prolly has a good rep

KAC URX 4 is a notable mention.  I haven't read of any problems with them.

I personally had a Noveske NSR for a little over a year on a hunting/hiking rifle that I quite literally beat the shit out of.  Never once had any problems with it.

The KAC URX4 is excellent but not the easiest install due to its on piece design. Pinning a lo-pro gas block can be challenge to put it mildly.

Don't forget to check out Midwest Industries.

I like their rails but not their mounting system. I wouldn't recommend them at all purely do to that.

Check out the Daniel Defense SLiM rail. That thing is a tank, and extremely light. I have a 15" and love it. Same mounting solution as their other rails that are known for their strength. And it's about the same price as the BCM.

I am sure BCMs are solid as well though. Can't really go wrong with Bravo Company!

This....  Midwest quality and design is outstanding.  (Disclaimer - They are located in my home state, but I use all their products, along with BCM.)

Edit:  I've not had any problems with their mounting system as another comment indicated.  YMMV

Throw Fortis in there as well with their Rev II. They make great Keymod rails as well.

I can only speak for the one rail I have (12"). I applied the recommended torque and it slowly slide off the nut when I was shooting. I tightened it a couple of extra lbs and the little tabs started bending. Luckily just a slight bend has been enough to hold it in place. This is unfortunately somewhat common..

I'm not knocking them in any other way really, great company. Just wished since they use a proprietary barrel nut, it would be secure by pressure. Why not a system such as other brands (bcm, geiselle,  etc.)

I currently own a 13" BCM rail that has been nothing shy of awesome. On my next rifle, i plan on using a keymod rail from either SLR or Fortis. I've heard nothing but good things about SLR, and i already have an optic mount and short angled grip from Fortis, and can atest to the high quality of their parts.

I agree. I've used them on three budget builds. They are ok for the money but they don't really compare to the KMR. The rail to barrel nut fit is sloppy...which is why they include an adhesive.

I really like the NSR. When I first saw it when it was released I thought it looked dumb, then I picked up a gun with it.

It's light and it's thin. It was just what I was looking for at the time. My next builds won't be using them, because I consider variety to be the spice of life, but I can recommend the NSR.

another NSR fan here. Really comfortable in the hand and surprisingly light.
