I'm using a metal picatinny rail piece made by noveske to secure a vert grip to the bottom of my KMR.  Loosened up at the range very quickly even though I torqued it down.

I'm going to try using the BCM plastic picatinny rails.  Are they good to go or do these come loose too?

Do keymod built vert grips come loose?

I have used both on my KMR rails and never had an issue with either.  Make sure you slide the rail all the way forward into the key mod slot before tightening it down.

Why not avoid the rail section and go with one of the key mod vertical grips? You'll also get a smoother integration when using the partial grip.

When tightening a keymod rail attachment; after sliding the rail attachment forward, pull up on the rail attachment as you tighten each screw down. Hold the smaller end of the allen key as you tighten. When you cannot tighten any further, flip the allen key around to tighten the screw further a maximum of 1/8 to 1/4 turn more. Do this if you are not wanting to use a thread locking compound.

As for the polymer rail attachments that come with the KMR, I did not like how they flexed after being tightened (I noticed this when I used one "at first" to attach a bipod). With how lightweight the KMR is, my concern is the polymer rail attachment flexing may lead to tweaking the KMR; whereas, an aluminum rail attachment won't flex how the polymer does. But I don't have definitive proof to this, and I do not want to find out if the polymer rail attachment will tweak the KMR.

On a side note, if you want to keep the keymod nut from separating from the screw; after placing the screw through the accessory and attaching the keymod nut, stake the very tip of the screw as indicated in the KeyMod Technical Data Package. This does make the keymod nut attached semi-permanent to the screw.

How is one supposed to stake the screw?  Before you install the rail on the rifle??

I think they mean stake the end of the screw so the nut doesn't fall off.
Like on a detachable carry handle.
