Hey.  Noob here, long-time lurker, coming out into the light.  Greetings, salutations.

My son bought a new, complete flat-top upper/barrel assembly (16", A2 flash, 15" UTG Pro SuperSlim f/f handguard) at a show a few months back.  Completed it into an M4gery (sorta), with MagPul STR and MOE grip, FAB Defense BUIS, MagPul MS3, etc.  Great shooter. Sweet looker.

He (and I) was a bit naive when he got into AR's, and he bought this upper "because it looks cool".     Now he is researching in MUCH GREAT DETAIL, everything related to the freaking awesome AR platform, so that the next acquisition is dialed-in a bit more carefully.

In going over the upper package we found that the upper itself has an Anchor-Harvey forge mark.  The barrel is marked "5.56 NATO 1/7 4150 CrMoV 03/14".  The only marking we can find for the barrel mfr is a logo, see the photo below.

I have spent at least 3 hours this afternoon (old retired dude...), on every forum I can think of (I started here at ARFCOM) to try to find out who the barrel manufacturer is.  4150 Chrome-Moly-Vanadium is decent steel, no worries there.  He'd just like to know who made it.

The mfr's logo appears just to the left of "5.56..." but we cannot anything online linking that logo to a barrel mfr.  Sorry if the photo isn't great, the viewing angle is obstructed by the handguard...

Any ideas on who the mfr is, please?

Many thanks in advance.

Peace & Courage,
IC

YESSSS!!

I went to the mfr's website and that's the exact logo.

In one of my searches I actually defaulted to "AR15 barrel manufacturers".  Oddly enough, Aero Precision did not pop up.  Too weird.

Anyway, thank you, DPS.  And God Bless the Republic of Texas!! (I grew up in San Angelo...)

Yep.  BA barrels are outstanding and they supply many others with their "OEM" barrels including Aero who just bought a majority stake in BA.

Thanks, Kokopelli and Modern Outfitters, my son is very pleased with his purchase, and with the resultant build. Since DPS ID'd Aero Precision as the barrel mfr, we've done a lot of research on AP and the end source of their barrels, Ballistic Advantage. Clearly, with AP's major-ownership acquisition of BA, they see BA as a critical and desirable building block for their AR15 product line. Knowing this now (thanks to you guys in ARFCOM) it will be interesting to follow PA going forward.

Thanks again to all three of you for your feedback and information.
