Do youself a favor and lube it like any other bcg. I prefer using a few drops of the mobil1 full synthetic 20/50 that i use in the bike. Works great in a hot, violent situation and keeps it easy to clean and avoids even the slightest staining that is common on the cheaper, improperly applied nickel boron coatings. Fail Zero offers one of the higher quality coated bcg's.

What gives it the slick feel, even when dry, is a microscopic bubbled texture that reduces the contact area.

You have a good product.   I have the WMD version and they are closely comparable.  I do recommend that you run it wet, or at least a bit so, and avoid all the so-called "miracle" lubes.  Nickel boron cleans up best and maintains its appearance best if you run, as stated above a very high grade synthetic motor oil, like Mobil 1.  I prefer and different one called Shell Rotella T-6 5-40.  Make sure you see "T-6" on the bottle, as there are quite a few Rotella formulations.  All are desined for diesel trucks!.  But only the T-6 is synthetic.  I prefer it over Mobil 1 simply because our direct impingement AR's run very dirty, not unlike diesel engines, and I find that the detergent package in the synthetic T-6 does an outstanding job.

Either way, don't bother with all the hyped up miracle gun lubes.  Synthetic motor oil is only $5-6 per quart and one quart will probably last you a lifetime.

Second observation:   Wipe it down after every range day and relube.  Letting them set up seems to be one of the main reasons for carbon build up and staining.  Just a couple minutes at the end of a range day is all that is needed.
