Well I've been fiddling around with what i want for a month now and i thought i knew what i wanted but now not so sure i originally wanted a muzzle break but now i want a flash hider i want the zero to least amount of signature as possible with out a suppressor so school me on a muzzle device.

be meyers 249 is prob top dog in flash reduction but is a bit longer than most others.  the aac blackout and smith vortex are excellent flash hider's also and the aac can be purchased as a non suppressor mount.

Seriously the A2 flash hider works about as well as a flash hider can.  Its also extremely cheap and lightweight.  My Smith Vortex sits in a parts bin and only does duty as a thread protector.  Sure its good at hiding flash, but its heavier and longer than the A2 and has no muzzle rise compensation.

No, the A2 does great for the money , but absolutely  does not perform even close to what the top tier FH's do. I run several A2's but in head to head night shooting, my AAC Blackout non mount blows it away in signiture reduction. It is longer, heavier and costs considerably more, but it does the job much better.
