I'm sure this has been posted a million times before. I'm building my first AR and it'll probably be my only one for quiet a while so I want to get it right t.  first time. I'm trying to make a mid priced, do it all kind of rifle. I'm leaning towards a 16" mid length, mid weight barrel hopefully for $200 or less. These are the barrel I'm contemplating right now.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be scouring the Black Friday deals for one that fits my needs and criteria.

I would purchase the spikes.  My buddy would purchase the green mountain and have money left over.  Either barrel for their own reasons would not be wrong.  I have shot both.  Both shoot good.  Pick the best in the group for good value.  Or pick a really good deal on a good barrel.

Again I would buy spikes with pinned block.

I've bought two of the Green Mountain barrels (same model) and both are tack drivers...perfect profile for a basic do-it-all build.
