So let me start off by saying I am in no way associated with Red X Arms, and have never met these people let alone worked for them. I did notice though that 99% of the issues people had were customer service not product problems, and they were mostly during"the great ar-15 scare" of 2013. I decided to do a test order and buy just one and see how they do. I emailed them since the phone number is only for voice mails and you can't actually speak to anyone. A few days later somebody named Lara responded and answered my questions and said someone would call me 3 days later to get payment info. Nobody called after 3 days and I sent them 3 emails over 2 days to finally get a response. I placed the order for their 16" Stainless Steel Pencil Barreled complete upper on Tuesday and had it by Friday. Initially they charged me $290 instead of $270 but refunded the $20 after an email.
Now to the Upper: Honestly it's the best bargain I've ever gotten in terms of gun parts. It came very well packaged, there was a little compound around the handguard threads oozing out onto the reciever (maybe locktite) but it cleaned up easily. The fit and finish were spot on. The stainless steel barrel had good rifling, head spacing was proper, and overall quality was top notch. It has a free float quad rail and railed gas block. It weighed in a 3.34 lbs. I put 250 Hornady 55gr vmax rounds through it and this thing is a tack driver. (Continued next post) |

This place is good though, from looking around the internet I'm pretty sure it's run by the lady named Lara and her husband and less than 10 employees. So here's what it boils down to, they're not the easiest people to deal with but they have great products. If you're ok with having to email them a bunch of times then go for it. I have their direct phone number that you could call and actually speak to someone rather than the one for voicemails only, so if someone needs it PM me. I really hope they stay around for a while and grow to a decent size that can handle demand because they really do know how to build guns. If you don't want to deal with their customer service you can also buy their uppers from Brownell's, which I'm sure will be much easier to deal with. |

I think OP is confusing "complete review" with "total shill" How is that "total shill"? It's sad that somebody can't say good things about a relatively unknown manufacturer without people like you thinking it's a "total shill". I'm actually a financial planner that lives halfway across the country from them. If your so concerned with whether this is authentic or not here's my reciept (as sad as it is that I have to post this to make a point) http://i59.tinypic.com/2nv4i9e.jpg |
