I am building my first upper and I have everything now but the barre, this rifle is a lower end rifle, nothing amazing about it, just a fun plinker. I have bought almost everything from Surplus Ammo & Arms as it is right down the street from me, just the other day I bought the store brand BCG for $89.99 as it had really good reviews online, and I planned on buying one of their store brand barrels, which they have two listed under $150, come to find out they dont stock them and its an online item only, I could simply order them online and have them shipped to me but before I did so I thought I would ask if there are any barrels that would be considered better for around the same price?
I am just looking for a basic 16" M4 profile, M4 feedramps, carbine length gas port.. Twist rate I am not to concerned about as again this is really just a plinking rifle, and I just want to get my first upper under my belt before going all out. Not sure if you like the idea of a Wylde chamber but these look good. Same barrels as AR Performance. Reportedly GTG.

| CMMG Mk4 16" carbine barrel. Melonite finished. List price direct from CMMG is $179, but if you shop around you may be able to find one for $150. I put one on my carbine build (Spikes Tactical M4 upper) and it shoots 1 MOA with good ammo, and the Melonite finish, inside and out is very, very durable and contributes to the accuracy. |

Joe Bob's has a 16" 1/9 twist carbine gas barrel for $109.95
