When I installed my barrel on my rifle build tonight I did not use any grease on the barrel where it fits in the receiver or the threads when installing the barrel nut.  Should I remove the barrel and apply grease?  If so what type of grease do I use?

The purpose for the grease is twofold:  prevent thread galling and generate accurate torque readings.

If you were in the middle of the spec'ed torque range (30-80lb-ft) I wouldn't take it apart just to add grease.

I agree.  But as he implied, if within a few pounds of the hi or low torque readings I certainly would, especially the low end.

The specs called for 30-60 ft-lbs.  it was at 55.  It's a MI Gen 2 T series rail with the proprietary nut.  I removed the nut and barrel and am applying grease to it before I reinstall.
