For my first full build I was going to do a Magpul hand guard with a FSB, and it was going to be a general plinker/SHTF rifle, basicly a go to rifle.  Well come to find out the FSB is quite expensive if you want to get a pinned on one. So now I am leaning more towards getting a free float hand guard with BUIS..

That being said can anyone recommend me a handuard to fill me needs?  I was thinking lighterweight and durrable.  I am not a fan of the quad rail, I dont find them to be comfortable unless you add covers to them which is only more added weight, and I dont plan on attaching anything but a BUIS.. As for length I would only want it long enough to cover a carbine length LPGB.

Goal is lightweight and comfortable for plinking, yet durable for the dreaded SHTF haha.. And I dont want to break the bank, the cheaper the better, but i would like to probably keep it around $150 or so if thats even possible.

Nordic NC-1 or one of the many Yankee Hill handguards. Also take a look into the Rock River TRO.
