This is my first build, and need some opinions on selecting a barrel. I'm looking for a stainless 16" mid system with a 1/8 twist. Trying to keep under $250. Right now I am looking at Aero Precision, Wilson combat, and Rainier Arms. What do you guys recommend and why? Thanks for any help.

A buddy has a 16" Rainier MEDCON that seems to be a shooter. Last I shot it, it only had irons, but was printing very tight at 50 yards when I helped him zero. I think he's added glass to the rifle since then, but I haven't heard any accuracy claims. I think he paid like $225 for that barrel a while back (they look to be about $260 now).

I have also been eyeing that 16" SS Aero Precision barrel for a build I have in mind. Their barrels just hit the market, so I haven't seen much from people in terms of performance. I'm hoping they do well, as the price is very appealing.

I've been happy with my 18" ADCO (White Oak), which I believe uses a Wilson blank (IIRC). Rock River barrels are also quite accurate, and affordable. They too use Wilson blanks IIRC.

Good luck.
