[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Just installed my first free float

MI SSK 15 inch, used a YHM low profile set screw gas block and a yhm gas tube. Any thing I should check prior to shooting it? I used a compressed air can to blow air through the gas tube, I could feel air flow out the barrel so I know the holes are lined up.

First post + no pic= FAIL

Shoot it a few times. If you have any issues you can remove the gas block and see where the carbon build-up is. You should check your headspace but you'll get different opinions on that.

Ya, builds are too much of crap shoots for me to bother doing again. Or at least the uppers.

Glad it worked out and no issues came up.

I was surprised it went together that well, the only issue was the FSB not wanting to cooperate.I will post pics of it after work, might throw in a range report as well.
