| I've recently surrendered to temptation(after looking at different ARs for over a year) and put a Colt LE6920 on layaway through Budsgunshop and I am just wondering what kind of BCG it will have as I've seen 3 different types of BCGs. Being an LE model will it have the half circle style of BCG, the full circle or the M16 FA BCG? Thanks in advance for any information. |

Most Colt carbine models have the M16 full auto BCG and H carbine buffers since 2005. I've bought two 6920 carbines one in 2011 another in 2012 also a model 6721 HBAR heavy profile barrel carbine in 2010 all have the full auto BCG. Good to know. WHen did the 6920 get discontinued(as I've heard it was) and when did they stop using the LE? |

The 6920 series are still current production, the roll markings had been changed to several variations, here's just a rough list of and time on how they changed (please don't quote me on this): Roll marked "Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine" with LE Restricted on right magwell model LE6920 (1999 to 2011) Roll marked "Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine" without LE Restricted markings model LE6920 (2011 but not discontinued yet, they had not made any lately) Roll marked "Sporter M4 Carbine" without LE restricted markings model SP6920 (2011 a few was made in 2012 only) Roll marked "M4 Carbine" without LE restricted markings model LE6920 (2012 up to current production) Roll marked "M4A1 Carbine" without LE restricted markings model LE6920 SOCOM series (2012 up to current production) The factory still made about 105 LE6920 carbines with "Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine" with LE Restricted markings last year, here's the thread link. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_29/242798_Just_in_from_Colt___.html Also it was discussed at the Colt Industry forum in the past that Colt will do any older markings or custom markings for distributors or any group order as long as the minimum order quantity is met. |

Is there a way to figure out when the rifle was made? Quoted:

They haven't discontinued it as far as I know. Mine says on the box colt le6920. I just got mine in January Is there a way to figure out when the rifle was made? What member smoothmove said. Also the Colt consumer site have a serial number lookup feature in their customer services section, sometimes it works sometimes not because they don't have all the serial numbers in their database. |
