I am looking at an upper by this company (incidentally, in 300 Blackout).  Does anyone know about this company and its AR15 products?  Might this be a good one?  Thanks.  Joe

I've only really read good things about them (check them out in the industry forum); I ordered one of their M4 Scouts (5.56X45) and should be getting it sometime in the coming week, I'll try and get back to you on how it does. Gotta love their warranty though...

I bought a CORE15 MOE 300 Blackout a few weeks ago and am disappointed. When I got it home, I noticed that the upper and lower fit was ridiculously loose. (The shop sold me a new unopened box out of inventory. I won't make that mistake again.)  It wiggles and rattles so much that it makes noise when you walk with the gun making it useless for hunting unless you put in a rubber wedge. It appears to be a problem with the upper. When I swap in uppers from other guns they are reasonably tight on the CORE lower. The fit is so poor that I cannot believe that they let it out of the factory. Given that they did, one wonders what else they screwed up.

So far the only thing I have noticed is that the M4 feed ramps chew up my bullets and brass. That is true of many 300 Blackout rifles because the feed ramps are designed for the 5.56x45. You can fix that easily enough. Until CORE fixes their quality issues, I'd say get a Smith. The Smiths I've seen are tight and work.

My Core 300BLK SBR upper has functioned flawless subsonic and supersonic.  Per my request, Core put a shorter railed hand guard on and left off the flash hider so I could use my suppressor and clip on thermal sight.   It did arrive with a scratch on the stainless steel bbl, but that was no big deal to me, as it will get knocked a bit when hunting and going through brush.  Fine accuracy, better than average.  I use it on two SBR lowers, one Colt and one KISS Tactical.  Fit to lower is not tight nor loose...sorta in the middle of those two extremes.  I like the upper and have used it for hunting in Florida and Georgia.

I have a Core-15 Tac III complete in 5.56 with the MI 15" SS rail that has functioned flawlessly through several thousand rounds.  I also have the 22lr tac III upper with the same rail that functions as well as a standard CMMG style conversion can.  (doesn't hold open bolt, etc.)  The 5.56 rifle is exceptionally accurate, light, and great to shoot.  I would recommend without hesitation.  When I bought the first one, it was a great bargain for what you got.  I think the 22lr is grossly overpriced but the quality is there.  I probably would not purchase the 22lr again due to the price (or any 22lr conversion due to the way the function.)

I have 2 of their guns in 5.56, and my family has at least 3 more.  They are the only gun I plan on buying from now on.  Their builds are always exceptionally tight fitting, work great and are just all around extremely well built.  As for Schroom's issue, all manufacturers have issues on occasion.  The great thing is that their warranty is no joke.  If you have any issues and contact them, they will make it right quickly.  Let us know if you get one and what you think.

A friend of mine bought one new. It won't go 10 rounds without a FTF. He hasn't gotten around to calling them up on it, how is their CS?

I have one of their .22 uppers and I love it. Great upper that has preformed very well for a .22 upper.

I have both a factory SBR from them in 300 BLK and a 22lr upper. Both have run exceptional since I got them. My 300blk SBR runs great with both supers and subs, of all different weights. The machining is great and the fit and finish is good as well. If you are buying a complete rifle, just know that the buffer tube may be a commercial tube vs a milspec tube. I replaced mine on the SBR with a milspec tube to open up the amount of stocks available.

I have a piston MOE, it runs great but only likes P-Mags.  If I use metal or GI mags it won't feed.....  not a big issue, just a weird quirk
