anyone ever seen a six sided free float rail? I bought a rail off the ee here and when it arrived it was six sided not four. I'm not sure if I like it or not. Anyone know who makes it?

Can we see pictures?  Link to the EE posting?

When you bought it off the EE, the OP did not have pictures?

A hex rail?  Why?  Can't fit enough tacticool accessories on four rails?

Its hard to mount things on it. the rails are to close each other. Just asking if anyone has ever seen one of these and if yhm ever made one. I did a internet search and a search on here with no luck. thanks

I'll try again to put the link to the ee post but it doesnt tell anything except that it is a rifle length quad rail.

I emailed yhm and they said they never made six sided rails.

Okay all I got the pictures of the rail:

This is a fucking straight up weird rail along with what looks like a Chinese knock off from what I see.

Wow!  And the slots appear to be cast rather than machined.  Tolerances are likely to be all over the place.  I hope you did not pay very much for that thing.  If it was falsely advertised as to the manufacturer and it differs from any description you were given, I think you ought to make the seller refund your money and pay shipping charges for the return.

This looks like an issue that should be in the EE Feedback thread, that rail is clearly misrepresented.

Ok I emailed yhm and they said they never made a rail like this. I emailed dpms and they said they had some made by a outside source years ago but didn't say who the manufactor was. So I guess it's consider a dpms. Still not sure if I'm happy with it. The seller has apologized for his mistake and offered to refund my money. Problem is I like it. It puts my flashlight right where I can use the rear pressure cap with my thumb so think I'll keep it and see how it works out.

Looks like a YHM barrel nut locking ring to me, though it could simply be that it's a copy of a YHM mounting system.  Regardless, I could see why one might assume that it was a YHM.

Glad everything's worked out otherwise.

The Vltor CASV is technically six-sided, although you have to add rail sections where needed.

That's a lot of useless weight

A lot of mounts may not fit on that 6 sided rail.

Pretty sure ATI used to market those.
