Quick question about these handguards.  My Troy TRX gets hot as hell after just a little bit of shooting(as in two mags at an average pace).  Does the Midwest get that hot?  Looking for an alternative as its kinda pointless to have a rifle thats too hot to hold on to.

yes, every rail ive ever used gets "too hot" after shooting, particularly in the scorching texas sun.

wear gloves or wrap the rail in paracord.

The MI handguard with the pannels allows me to shot without gloves and still keeps it thin.

Mag dumps = HOT.  Get over it, its a fact of life.  No handguard is going to stay cool.

Some handguards vent heat better than others. My URX 3.1 is fine after a string of shots unlike a lot of other handguards I've used. One thing none of them prevent is them cooking in the sun. That's the main reason I use rail panels.

I'd assume the MI rail would be about the same as Troy.

All handguard with a low profile get hot with enough rounds down the pipe.
We have designed our handguard to ventilate as much as we possibly could without giving up any structural integrity.
We do have panels that help insulate your hands from the heat. That being said, a good pair of gloves are a great tool to have in the bag as well.

Thank you,

Thanks for all the help.  I really like the looks of the MI.  May have to give them a try.
