Should I use my castle nut and detent plate from the commercial set up that I had or should I get the mil spec ones? Is it ok to use the commercial buffer tube spring too.

Use your old parts. You can even restake them. There were some softer end plates here or there or some such... but the end plate is hardly as critical as the right RE.

Also should be no difference between carbine springs, regardless of the type of receiver extension you use, so go ahead and re-use the same spring and buffer.
