I own a Windham Weaponry AR15 with a Carbine length hand guard and front sight/gas block combo. It's all stock and I wanted to start off by replacing my current hand guard with a mid-length free float from Midway USA. I provided links below to everything I will be purchasing I just want to know ahead of time whether or not I will run into any problems or compatibility issues with these parts.

Yankee Hill Machine Free Float Mid-Length
Yankee Hill Machine Low Profile Clamp On Gas Block
Yankee Hill Machine Handguard End Cap

Should I be good to go with this setup or will the hand guard not work with this gas block?

On another note, say I wanted to keep the current gas block and front sight could I buy a mid-length gas tube so that I can move the gas block out of the way of the mid-length hard guard?

It should work fine.

check YHM's website, but you might need the specter size rail.  Can't remember their measurement on that one though.  Other than that, you should be good.

No, your barrel is drilled for a carbine length gas system.

Nope, you'd have to have the gas port in your barrel moved.  Either shave down the front sight and install the rail over it, get a low profile gas block, or get a carbine length rail.

Thanks to all that replied. I am going to just purchase the low profile gas block and hold onto the one that is currently on my rifle.

Check the specs of your flash-hider. YHM end cap may not fit over it.

That rail has a proprietary barrel nut plus he will be removing the standard FSB.  His muzzle device will be coming off with or without the end cap so this is a non issue.

Make sure to go with the spectre length, that will ensure the endcap doesn't conflict with the gas block.
