I have a quick question, I just bought my second AR today from a LGS it was a complete Colt upper and LPK and stock on a spikes lower. My question:  the stock is colts magpul copy and it feels extremely hard to extend and collapse. Is this normal? And does anybody know if colt uses a milspec or commercial buffer tube?

Colt receiver extensions are mil-spec.

Yes. They are normaly rather stiff. It should loosen up a bit with use. Or you can youtube vids on how to adjust the tension.

...whut... really?

The "milspec" dimension is based off of Colt's dimensions...

Are you sure it's not the Colt Rogers stock?  Those have a tension nut.

It most likely is. They are rather snug right out of the box. When I got mine I had to hold the latch with one had and give the stock a whack with the other to get it moving.
