I purchased a st-22 upper that comes to just over 15" with an a2 flash hider. Im looking for any cheap muzzle device (flash hider, brake, comp whatev) thats about 1" longer than an a2 flash hider to pin on the end.

Anyone have any suggestions? I thought I had seen some 10/22 extended flash hiders (think NC Star) that were threaded as opposed to set screw, but cant seem to find them now

Is it a 16" barrel?
In case you don't know, a 16" .22 barrel sticks out of the receiver about 14.5" Approx. 1.5' is inside the receiver. Perfectly legal by ATF rulings.

Yeah, I measured complete barrel length not just from the reciever. Overall barrel length with flash hider is just about 15". I think its a 13.5 or 14" barrel

The only one I can think of that's long enough is Noveske's KX3 flash hider.

But your profile says California, are flash hiders legal there?

That noveske is a little more than Im willing to spend on a .22lr

The CA laws are a bit ridiculous.

Black guns are deemed "assault weapons" and illegal if they have a removable magazine. A mini-14 which is damn near the same thing as an AR, but not black is totally legal. The bullet button takes away the "assault weapon" status and allows for normal (see "evil) features such as threaded barrels, muzzle devices collapsible stocks, grips etc.

So as gay as the bullet button is, it makes every type of AR accessory legal, provided you haven't messed with NFA class items, with the exception of normal (see high) capacity magazines

Also this is going on a dedicated .22lr barrel, so none of that really matters.

I also live in Nevada, and do most of my shooting there

Gottcha, too many weird gun laws to keep track of

I think I remember seeing some longer ones from Surefire and DPMS too.
