I have a upper with a 14.5'' barrel with a pinned flash hider. I shaved the front A post and installed a 13'' VTAC alpha rail awhile back but I have since decided I would like a new look. I want to buy a 10'' Larue rail. Since my flash hider is pinned can I cut the barrel nut off and slide everything needed for the Larue rail over the shaved A post?

Thanks I would recommend a Daniel Defense Omega rail instead. Nothing against LaRue - it's just that you won't have to cut or modify anything. The DD Omega are awesome free float rails and are top notch! The only thing is the Omega only comes in 7", 9", and 12" (not a 10" like you mentioned). I bet the 9" or, even the 12" would look, function, and feel fantastic on your AR. Cheers
