Hi all looking for a small comp that will lower recoil and is also not to loud. I will be getting a new upper that is 14.5 and I have to make it 16 inches. Any help would be great thanks

The Battlecomp and the Spikes DynaComp are both designed for exactly this purpose. I have a DynaComp and it is an OK compromise between recoil reduction and blast, price is OK too. Get the appropriate length to hit 16" barrel length.

Battlecomp makes one that is pre-drilled for this purpose, it's called the Battlecomp 1.5.

I have a Battlecomp 2.0 on my AR and love it.  I had in the past used both the Surefire MB556K and PWS FSC556 and found the Battlecomp was just as good with less concussion.

Thanks, can you tell me if there is any that will help quiet the noise. If I ever need it for defense I would like my ears not to ring for a week.

Yes it is called a suppressor. Check local laws before purchase.

No brake, comp, or Flashider will make the AR quiter. They will redirect the sound (blast) some what, but in a house all that sound is just going to bounce around.

Don't worry if you ever have to pull the trigger you will not hear it.

+1 for the Battlecomp.  I shot a carbine course a couple of weeks ago, and the guy next to me was using one.  It was no louder than a birdcage and no noticeable concussion.  He, on the the other hand, developed TBI from my Titan comp.

I've just recently become a pretty frequent shooter and have had A2s on my rifles. But I had a ban era Bushy threaded and had to choose a flash hider/comp, the guys at Black Weapons Armory sold me on their XComp which they sell for $109.  Never really thought much about it but after shooting with it, I now have them on all 3 of my ARs. I've let about 6 of my shooting buddies fire my 16" and they've all said its the smoothest shooting AR they shot.  After adding it to my 20" BCM 1/7, I tightened my 100yd groups by .5 - 1 inches for the simple fact that I don't have to reset my bipod after every shot.  Ive had guys comment on concussion who were shooting next to me but it's a small price to pay.  Not that I've had experience with a lot of comps, but I probably won't unless someone can make a huge case for me to change.
