I'm just finishing a 6.8SPC build and can't seem to decide on a handguard. Looking for a FF tube that is comfortable to hold. I have a RRA .223 with a Hogue FF tube on it. Looking for something different. My first choice was the Wilson Combat T.R.I.M. but not sure I want to drop that much for a guard.  I was kind of set on the Troy Alpha but after holding one at the gun show yesterday I'm not sure now. Seemed kind of rough. I did see the rubber inserts for it online but not sure how that would feel.  I'm going to use it for target practice in the back yard and deer hunting. Probably will not be attaching many if any extras to it. I have a 16in WC fluted barrel and want to just cover the gas block. Was hoping someone could steer me in a good direction.

Thanks for your time!!

I have a Troy Alpha incoming, because I'm completely sold on the design and the weight. If you didn't find it comfortable, maybe something like this will fit the bill.

Something in between might be the JP/VTAC

I got tired of rails, i went PRI carbon fiber. the natural look is so sweet and you can add rails to your liking. It also comes with an aluminum barrel nut, it is very light especially without the rails.

I love my Troy Alpha now that I have it but I almost went with the VTAC Alpa for the same reason.
