Ok guys, I was trolling youtube looking at odd and end videos and came accross this "bump fire stock". I'm sure there are posts here with what you think about them, but I couldn't find any. Does anyone have one of these? I know they are a waste of ammo but, are they a waste of money buying one just for recreation use? In case you don't know what they are:
Thanks in advance! http://youtu.be/_U6tORrODJE <iframe width="420" height="315" src="_U6tORrODJE?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

I've got one of the SlideFire SBS models installed on what I call my "jackass" lower. It works and it's easy to learn how to apply the constant forward pressure required to dump entire mags like an M16 on auto. That said, IMO it has no actual practical value since it's difficult at best to be accurate with it, even when shooting shorter controlled bursts. It would take ALOT of practice to get proficient with it at any distance exceeding 25 yards (not to mention the associated ammo cost). It's mostly useless when locked open for regular semi-auto shooting, and the polymer material it's constructed of is cheap feeling, thin and fragile (my buddy actually broke mine when he mortared it on the ground to extract a stuck cartridge). Granted SlideFire replaced mine quickly with no fuss, so the CS is good at least.
Despite all that, it's fun as hell and likely the closest I'll ever get to owning a full auto (much less an transferable M16). Everyone who dumps a full mag using that thing is smiling like a fool afterward. That's worth the cost of admission to me, I don't regret buying it. |

I have one and it is a blast! I don't find it difficult at all to control or stay on target, especially if you use it on a 9mm but even set up on a 5.56, it really isn't a problem.
Here I am shooting it in a 9mm RRA. Here I am doing a 5.56 Beta mag dump. Soooooo much fun. |
| I also have one of these stocks and I totally agree, they're just for recreation. Without tons of practice it is nearly impossible to keep this on target even at short ranges (10 yrds). For the budget shooter these stocks aren't worth the money due to going through ammo so quickly. But it is still fun to have and I do not regret buying this stock either. |

Uncle has one, and they really are an absolute blast. Is the stock itself worth $300? no. Is the feeling you get after shooting your Ar now that it feels like its full auto worth it? Well, you can decide that for yourself as you try to wipe the grin away from your face.

Quoted: I have not used one, however I think it would be great on an AR converted to .22 Sounds like a good way to make it economical. It does look like a blast. Not sure where I'd be able to shoot it in NJ though.... pretty sure any range around here would lose their shit if they heard full-auto. It's ugly as hell though... wish someone like Magpul would come up with their own version that doesn't look so shitty. |
