| Im on build #2 and need some input on which stock to go with. I have a LMT Sopmod on my current AR and love it,but might try something different. The new build is a 14.5" pinned BCM carbine,FDE furniture, and optic will be an ACOG. Which stock do you run? |
| I love the SOPMOD, but take a closer look at the VLTOR IMOD (I prefer the standard). It's a badass stock. Shorter than the SOPMOD (probably on par with the CTR), excellent cheek weld, tough as nails, the rubber butt pad is like a tire tread which is pretty aggressive, and easy battery tube access. |

All depends on the configuration you plan to use. If going with a LW barrel and a light handguard, then I'd look at the CTR. Otherwise a LMT, or possibly UBR if you are putting a bunch of crap on the front of the rifle. Will be a 14.5" pinned m4 barrel, more than likely DD Omega rail. |

I have currently four carbines so my decision basically is to balance the front weight to the buttstock weight, except for my military clone that will have the military issue Colt M4 stock of course.
#1. M4 carbine clone: M4 stock #2. Lightweight carbine with standard M4 handguard: Magpul CTR stock #3. Medium weight carbine: Vltor IMOD stock #4. Heavy carbine with medium contour, midlength gas, 16" barrel and LaRue FF 9.0 rails: Vlor EMOD stock Take a look at this article, it might give you some help in picking the right stock for you. Magpul STR
It's the best of both worlds: compact and locks up tight like a CTR and it has the cheekweld and storage of a sopmod. I love mine! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7178/6938604687_ee31197ce3.jpg |
