I'm trying to finalize a new-to-me upper that I bought to complete a lower that I built recently. I currently have a KAC M4 RAS on there, but the truth is I like to grip the forend a fair amount further out than that platform allows. Problem is, I got the upper from Spikes pre-configured to be compliant in the ban state that I am unfortunate enough to live in, meaning I can't (at least in any way that I know) remove the compliant break to get everything else off. I'd love to add a FF rail to the rifle, but it seems that in order to do so I will have to lop off the FSP. From a technical standpoint, I don't have a problem with this, and I would already have to cut off the current D ring assembly et al, so I'm not averse to that kind of work. On the other hand, I'm interested as to whether there exists a rail platform with a relief for a FSP that is around 12" that I could mount to this rifle without removing everything (or anything). I feel like I have looked everywhere, but perhaps someone on here knows something that I have overlooked.

Thanks for all your help!

Utg makes a m4 rail just like you described. It's kinda heavy though. Also it's not a free float. But it does feel pretty sturdy. If you can inspect one in person, it might work for you.

Send to ADCO and tell them what you want to have done.

Problem solved.

The Centurion C-4 Carbine Cutout will get you to around 9" while keeping the FSP...

Or you can cut the FSP down along with the D-ring and handguard cap and use the Centurion C-4 12" that uses your stock barrel nut.

I use the Mid-Cutout on one of my rifles and these things lock up very solid.

This.

Just cut off the delta pack (or if you have the tools/know-how, take off the barrel and remove the delta pack) and install a Centurion Arms handguard on the standard barrel nut.

C-4 carbine cut-out rail
C-4 12" rail

I would also consider Weapon Outfitters for the CA stuff (free shipping on orders over $100 and an Arfcom discount code).

Here is a video from Samson that shows how to add a ff tube to a rifle with a perm attached muzzle device. It is the last 5 minutes of the video, and he leaves out a couple things, but you can get the gist of how it is done.

I imagine this will work for just about any ff tube.

Only applies to FF tubes that use the standard barrel nut.  Many designs use different barrel nuts.

You got me Augee lol.  I forgot that the barrel nut would have to go over the muzzle device and the gas block/front sight.  I am old and forgetful sometimes.  But this is a great way to save having to remove the muzzle device to install a ff tube.
