I like the tube styles over the quad rails on SPRish type builds.  But don't see much info about this product.  Looks nice to me and very light.  I don't see it stated anywhere, but is this tube FF?  How does it install?  Quality?

LOL DERP.  Found out, yes, it is FF, just checked the site.

Haven't used one but they look nice.  Rainier Arms carries them and there is a detailed description of them on their site that says they are a free float tube.

When you price them out they end up way to expensive because they charge an obscene amount for rail sections.

That and I hate knowing that all rails are simply screwed on, it would be nice if there was at least some portion of machined rail section to mount a front sight on.

you just want the tube they are nice and light. when you have to buy the top rail and and other acc rails separately  you might as well get a bar or sar rail.  I put one on a cmmg 22 dedicated kit and like it.

See, that's the thing.  The only thing I really want is a rail for a front sight.  And a mounting point for a bipod on the bottom.  Don't really need or want other rails.

Buy a Samson Evolution.  The top rail is machined and it includes two rail sections and a QD slot.  Mount your bupod to one of the included rail sections.

I have the one from Rainier Arms - it's a very nice rail.  Comfortable, rigid, and easy to install.

I have the Apex on one of my rifles. It mounts very solid and I like the feel a lot. I have a scope on the rifle so I don't have a front sight or top rail yet. I don't need the other rail sections but the top rail is expensive.

The SAMSON was out of stock at Ranier at the time or I would have ordered that instead.

Interesting.  I do like the built in QD unlike the Rainier version.  Wait a minute.  If the barrel is 18" with a "rifle" gas system.  The rifle or 12" tube/rails wont cover the FSB....

Pretty sure you can buy a short 2" piece of so of rail section and put it way out on the end for a front sight if you want. The other thing I like about mine is that the holes on the bottom are threaded the same as a sling study so I can mount a bipod straight to it without having a rail section and then an adapter.

Correct - that allows you to use a regular A2 FSB or any other gas block.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm referring to my "Rifle" in the generic sense. It is a mid length gas system on a Ranier 16" barrel.

About mounting  the bipod.  Are you refering to the Apex?

I have an extended carbine length on my 6920 and I like it. Fit and finish are excellent and it mounts tight.
It will not fit with a bayonet lug - had to cut mine off. The rails are a little pricey however if you do not need them then you don't have to get them.
I like grip and feel also it is fitting for me. I would recommend them without question. .....my 2 cents anyway.......

I have one of their earlier version tubes on a 3-gun rifle.

Don't use rail sections so that's not a worry for me.

Really like it though and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a basic FF tube.

Yes, I was referring to the Apex.

So I looked and handled an Apex tube the other day.  It's a little shorter than I would like.  I would prefer it to be in the 14" range.  Or even 13".  It looks very nice and light though.  Not sure how the bipod mounts on the bottom though.  The bottom has those long oval cut outs.

You will need to mount a short rail on the bottom of the tube and the bipod will mount to that .

Maybe I have an older version but on my Apex there is a single threaded hole on the bottom towards the very front that a bipod stud threads into. Maybe the newer versions don't have this?

The only threaded holes I saw were up top for the rails.

Mine also is just slots with the only threaded holes for the top rail - so I have the short rails mounted in the slots.
On the website they do have a picture of the carbine length and it appears to have the threaded hole you speak of. Could be an earlier version or maybe they have a reason ?? All the others appear to be just slots as well.

I had said before to cut the bayonet lug off however I was mistaken sorry. I had to file the sling mounting tabs enough that it was to the pin so i just cut it off and filed it down nice nice.
