Anyone ever use an adjustable gas tube? I have a clamp-on low pro gas block, and don't really want to dish out the money for an adjustable block. Has anyone ever used one of these to get a softer shooting rifle? I'm thinking about this combo on my pencil carbine 16":

MGI Adjustable gas tube 45$
Tungsten buffer 30$
YHM 5m2 Comp 30$

Interesting, I've never seen that before.

I've seen the "pigtail" gas tubes, and the gas tubes that look pregnant, but I don't know anyone that's ever tried either one.

I've used the PRI fatboy and MGI adjustable. The PRI had no noticeable effect on recoil and I still received lots of blow back to my face. The MGI even with the gas turned all the way to the "off" position" still allowed my gun to cycle normally. This was all done with a 14.5" bushy with a SBR/M4 suppressor. I finally changed to a 16" barrel and a switchblock to finally eliminate blowback to my face. YMMV! I didn't want to pay for the adjustable gas blocks either but I suggest either a JP or Noveske. The JP is not to expensive and seems to work well from what I have read. The switchblock is expensive but just flat out works and works well.
