Other than the Daniel Defense Omega, what are the easiest FF tubes to install on a stock M4?  Need 4 rails, black, can't cut anything, & I really don't want to remove the bbl just to get the delta ring off.  Should terminate just behind the front sight tower/gas block.  Cost not that important, weight not that important, ease of install & availability is.

VLTOR CASV is easy to install. Optics mounting can be a bit of a challenge if you want cowitness.

Unless you see yourself going back to hand guards, just cut the delta ring assy off.

The centurion arms free float rail attaches to your regular barrel nut and from what I've seen it looks to be very easy to install LINKY

KAC RAS II, while a little old school, is a very good option to consider...

Just get the DD Omega. IMO there is no better 2 piece FF rail on the market. Great profile, light weight, locks up solid, built in sling mounts and no mods to the host weapon. The rail is damn near perfect IMO. Only down side is cost and you state that cost is not an issue. That being the case then getting any other 2-piece rail would be a mistake IMO. Even if cost is an issue, you can find them in like new condition on the EE all the time for $200 or less.

Get the Omega, you won't regret it!

I have a drop in KAC RAS.  Is the KAC RAS II just an add on piece for the drop in system?

No, its a complete rail that has a short section that clamps to the top of the upper receiver. Its what makes the rail a Free Float rail system...

ETA: The first couple of pics at the above link are prototypes, the pics at the bottom of the page are the final production version...

Thanks for the link to the KAC RAS II  info.

Regarding free float rails, is it worth the trouble to go all out and get something like a Larue rail that requires disassembly or is the DD Omega rail in most folks experience sturdy enough?

Bret, yeah, the armorer probably wouldn't appreciate that.  The C4 rail looks nice, but would have to remove the Delta ring.  The RAS 2 might work.  Now to figure out which gas piston might fit... - off to the gas piston forum!  Thanks all.

I like the RAS2, here it is on a 10.5" LMT SBR.

+1 for DD Omega. I've had one a couple of years on my S&W. The rail is rock solid and worth the money.

That isn't a 2 piece though is it?  I think the OP was looking for free-float 2 piece.

I have a related question, out of the DD, the Troy and the Centurion, is on shorter than the other?
The DD looks tall, for lack of a better description.

Doc, beautiful pics, but I'm looking for something EASY to install - their one piece requires a barrel wrench, & their 2 piece requires cutting of the Delta ring, both of which I'd like to avoid.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how hard is it to cut the delta ring?

IPSICK, as I understand it, Dremel, or, remove the barrel, use your fancy spring pliers, & Bob's your uncle.  However, if someone was expecting back a rifle w/ a Delta ring on it, it's a bit of work to UNcut a Delta ring.

Why would I need to put the delta ring back on?

Can I ask why you don't just go with the DD Omega? It's everything you are looking for and more?

airgunner,

I am probably going w/ the DD small diameter Piston Omega, & an ARES piston, unless someone tosses me a better idea.  I've already been in contact w/ DD.

Yeah you're right....didn't read far enough into the post

Centurion,Troy,DD,and Apex are all good choices

Dremel off the delta ring with a cutting wheel....take your time....go slow...and check your progress frequently....you'll do fine.
