I've narrowed my next build, (on a PSA lower,  ) to either a LMT SOPMOD or a Magpul ACS stock. I'm looking for a stock with a profile that provides a good cheek weld.
Either one of these looks like a candidate. They look similar with the exception of the storage compartment. The price difference, $128 vs $258 is what has me thinking though. Can anyone point out any pro's or con's for either? Is the double the price for a SOPMOD really worth it. I don't mind paying for quality or functionality but not into the name game. |
| I've had a SOPMOD for several years and I like it, but a friend on the board has pointed out an advantage of the ACS. While in a target rich environment with a magnified optic, his rear sandbag tripped the adjustment lever on his SOPMOD and he got a face full of scope. The friction lock on the ACS avoids that possibility. |

| If going the SOPMOD route, I'd be hawking the EE for one via a private sale. ACS, EMOD, IMOD and SOPMOD all offer great cheekweld and your buddy can decide how important storage is. I'd be hard pressed to say if one is "better" than the other...personal preferences are a big factor here. |
