Hello!
For my 16" Middy I want something other than my stock forearms. They rattle, and the Alu Heatshields stay not fixed in them. I do not wat to change the gun, and I DO NOT want to hang 100 gizmos on it. I want a plain, functional, easy handling, classy looking AR. So no FF Handguards. My Questions: A) are the Magpul MOE´s oval or triangle in cross section? Are they solid? Do they have a heat shield? Do they fit the hand better? ( the standard handguard is max for me in diameter! ) B) does CMMG makes NEWLY made triangular Handguards again?? For a Middy, too? ( if yes, I WANT ONE! In OD Green, please! ) C) any other recommendations? THX, Hermann |
| Buy the MOEs & try them out for yourself. That's the only way you'll be able to determine your preferences rather than relying on second hand intel from the Internet. If you don't like them then you will easily be able to sell them on the EE. Yes, they have a heatshield. Fit can & does vary from gun to gun, obviously. |

Is the plastic on the Magpul handguards the same flimsy, hard, thin, brittle type as the original handguards?
Or has it an other touch to it ( which I would prefer - I would like more "fleshy", thick, soft, "substantial" plastic ). Any infos on the CMMG Triange Handguards? Couldn´t find them on their HP? Hermann |
