Hello,

Sooo i just got my tax stamp in to SBR my ar15.

It was written for a 10.5 in barrel and i know i can go to 11.5 with no issues.

While i decided overall length i am at a loss for barrel brand and twist rate i should look at.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am waiting on my Form 1 to process and in the mean time, I have been studying barrels.
Since I want to shoot some heavy loads (75 grain) I am looking at the Daniel Defense 10.5 and its 1/7 twist.
I have found plenty 1/9 twist on the web, however I feel that it can't hurt to get a little bit better twist on a SBR even with 55grain ammo since the barrel is so short.
YMMV.

You pay more for a DD barrel , but you get more performance ($65-$75 more with same features) IMHO

By the way I also looked at Model 1 sales, they use ER shaw barrels and they are good also. However they are 1/9 twist for bullets 69 grain and under.
