I am building an upper with a RRA upper and looks like a WOA Varmint barrel. 99% of the bullets that will be fired from this will be Fed. TRU, 55 gr Nosler Ballistic tip ( because that is what is issued to me ) And more than likely I will not shoot anything lighter and nothing heavier than 70/75 gr. Will the 1:7 twist be too fast or more likely to tear the bullet apart? And would I be better served with the 1:8? I have read many post on here about twist rates regarding the two I am speaking of, but wasn't sure if understood them correctly.
Thank you in advance for any input provided.

While the 1:7 won't cause lighter to bullets fly apart, it's not optimal for target shooting (which is what it sounds like you'll be doing) with 55gr bullets.
1:8 or slower would be better if you want to get better accuracy out of lighter bullets and never intend/expect to shoot the heavier ones (with optimal accuracy). |

Other HP shooters can attest to that as well |
| either will work fine. My personal belief is that 1:8 is a better comprimise given the bullet weights you will be shooting –– with one exception. If you think you might want to shoot the Barnes 70 gr TSXs, go with the 1:7. Many 1:8s can not stabilize that bullet even though Barnes recommends 1:8 or faster. |
