Guys....

Need some help. I have a Doublestar AR15 w/ a carbine length quad rail system. I want to convert to the rifle length rail.

I am looking at the YHM diamond rifle length quad rail. I know that I will have to get a low profile gas block, but what other things must I take into consideration?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

as long as the rail fits over your gas block you are good to go.

It's best to use their hand guard wrench.

I thought I could get by without, but I just ended up scratching it up and bought a yhm wrench to tighten it up.

Will I need to get the full float rail?

Should I use a 12" rail?
Stock barrel is 16"

This is the setup that I have on mine 16" barrel with a 12" YHM Diamond Rail.

I'll try to get pics up for you soon.

Pics would be awesome.

I think I will go w/ the YHM or MI 12" with the end cap to make it look better.

low profile gas block in the correct diameter.
upper reciever block
armorers wrench
punches to remove and replace the roll pin in the gas block
vise
moly grease
a couple pieces of wood to clamp your barrel when removing and installing your flash hider.

that should be everything you need.

I had that rail once on a 16"

Thanks for the input.

I went with the:
MI - T 12 Rifle 12" Free Float
MI - Trim Ring for T-Series One Piece Handguards
MI Low Profile Gas Block

I will post pics when the build is done.

Next on the list is a stock.
