Ive been Googling my heart out and no luck figuring out:

1) what type of hand guard this is
2) how to remove it

It's obviously an older and not-so-common model, so there's not much info out there about it.
I did see one video of a kid showing how to remove the sight housing which was helpful but I had no luck doing this with my own AR.

Any info at all will be greatly appreciated!

It's just a basic free float aluminum tube. two piece example

After you remove the front sight and gas tube you should be able to remove the tube with a strap wrench. example

ETA You also might be able to use a wrench like this on the rear side of the nut.

Very common round free float tube.

It may be 2 piece like the DPMS one that is linked or it may be one piece like EGW used to make.

A strap wrench should take it off if it is 2 piece you use the strap wrench on the hand guard part then a barrel wrench on what is left.

Click me for info on how to remove the FSB as well as every other part on the Ar type rifle.
