Hi Guys,

I know that the Magpul UBR comes with a proprietary receiver extension/buffer tube (7 position IIRC?) but does anyone know if it will work acceptably on a 6 position mil-spec LMT buffer tube? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

NO It will not

A milspec tube will not work. The UBR's buffer tube is an integral part of the stock.

The proprietary receiver extension is unique to the UBR. It only works with the UBR and the UBR won't work with any other receiver extension.

The tube isn't 7 position, it is basically a carbine length tube but smooth all around.  Proprietary.

Thanks guys! That is what I thought. My buddy was arguing with me, but I think he was getting tangled up with a mil-spec CTR instead. I haven't used the UBR myself, but I knew it had a proprietary tube, so I couldn't see how it would work with any other buffer tube, regardless of make. Wish I'd put money on it now!

It is the same as an RRA entry receiver extension.

It comes with the tube, so it doesnt matter. But it will not work with any else.

This is correct takes a carbine buffer and action spring. The top portion mounts like an A1/A2 stock with a screw at the end and indexed by the recess in the lower receiver.

ETA I think the ace fixed entry length models use the same tube also.

Not exactly.  The buffer tube itself is a standalone piece, like any other buffer tube.  But it's unlike other telescoping stocks, in that the positions aren't in the buffer tube.  They're in the stock's "main tube" (as Magpul calls it in the manual).
