I've gone from wanting to just buy a complete lower, to maybe trying to put one together myself. Here's what I was thinking:
DD LPK http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XDD21007&groupid=53 + Surplus Arms & Ammo Stripped Lower http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1SASL&groupid=142 + DSA Buffer Tube Kit http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XDSABK&groupid=147 + Some M4 Stock I'm trying to keep this as low of cost as possible, without using shotty parts. Any suggestions? Should I use different parts? I was thinking of just using a Spikes LPK, but the DD seems to be popular. I'm open to suggestions, thanks! |

I have a DSA buffer tube and be advised that from threads here they're made of weaker 6061 aluminum compared to the normal mil-spec 7075 aluminum alloy, also they're extruded which is also a weaker manufacturing process than the mil-spec forging process. I would recommend a better buffer tube like my other BCM which are using mil-spec materials and manufacturing process, also they fit more snug on my standard M4 type stocks (YMMV). For the M4 stock the BCM mil-spec size are also pretty good compared to other commercial type M4 stocks, the BCM are unmarked and looks exactly like the Colt M4 military issue stocks. |
