So i just installed a fsc556 and notices that at times(well most of the time) i get a pretty good jarring of the teeth when i shoot my 16in Dpms. I had read this break isn't as bad as others but that blast is still kinda jarring to me at least. Is it just me that suckes or do All pws' do this and people don't say? Its a good break don't get me wrong but its starting to give me a bit of a headache at the range lol. Would better hearing protection help? Or setting my stock back a bit to get the muzzle farther away from me? Thanks all.

Normal.....it should be a really loud concussion blast I do not notice anymore and I imagine you will stop noticing it as much.  Some put plugs in the ears and muffs over the ears but I find my plugs are gtg.

It's apparently normal, but it's a mite louder than the Rainier XTC.  I believe that that is also because it works better as a brake.

OTOH, I hear that it's not as loud on the other side of the muzzle....

I have and use both the XTC and the FSC.... I actually like the XTC better, but the FSC looks better. To me, the XTC is a better brake. The FSC does a better job of hiding flash.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I guess i'll put the break back on my rifle and see if i can get used to it. I'll try some better hearing protection and see if it makes it any better. Strange thing is when i first put it on my rifle i didn't notice any blast at all. Then i moved my stock up and my Aimpoint mount back and things went crazy. I wonder if my aimpoint was deflecting the blast or something. Out of all the reviews for my FSC556 no one really said anything about the concussion being bad at all. Maybe i just suck lol

I wouldn't say its bad, but certainly noticeable.  It also changes based on the ammo you use and if your indoors or out.

Are you feeling the teeth-rattling more when shooting under a covered bench?  It may be better if you shoot out in the open.

I love to feel the blast in my bones.  Makes me feel like I'm shooting a real round.

I literally started wearing foam ear plugs under my -30db muffs if I'm going to shoot more than a few (3) mags.

As a muzzle brake, it is one of my favorites on the market and living in a Commy State, I have tried a ton of brakes.  However, if I didn't live here, I would never get a muzzle brake.

While I don't have an FSC on an AR (almost have enough $ for the remaining parts). I do have one on an AK,  and I love the huge blast it gives off.
If you do any shoot house events, its even more fun to see the cardboard or vinyl tarp "walls" shake or even fall over from shooting near them

Shoot in the lane next to a Barrett .50.

Wear loose clothes.

Sold the one on my SCAR 16, when I get the 17 it will stay on until I get to a suppressor friendly state.
