Is there a way to tell what size you have? I ordered one from palmetto, they say it fits milspec. Got it today, put it on a mil spec tube, and even with the lock it still wobbles a little.

Magpul ACSâ„¢ Collapsible Carbine Stock
The Magpul ACSâ„¢ (Adaptive Carbine/Storage) fits the standard Mil. Spec. buffer tube and offers a comfortable sloping cheek weld, integral storage compartment, anodized aluminum strike plate, battery storage tubes, a friction locking mechanism to eliminate excessive movement, and optional dual-side QD sling mount.

The ACSâ„¢ storage features include an internal storage compartment large enough for basic weapon maintenance/cleaning supplies, spare parts, or other small items. The ACSâ„¢ also includes two battery tubes, allowing for storage of six CR123 or four AA batteries in total. Batteries are accessible via rubber caps without removing or adjusting the stock.

Now what size do you think your ordering?

Nowhere does it say commercial, yet i got a commercial size! Between that and two items missing from my first order with them  I dont think I will ever order from them again.

Mines not as tight as i'd like either. Maybe i'm just picky having used a SOPMOD and CTR, both very tight.

I was under the impression that they didn't make a commercial size yet.

Plus I imagine that with a commercial size you'd have LOTS of wobble.  As in it's almost falling off.

I have some mil-spec diameter Magpul ACS stocks, and for some reason they don't lock quite as snugly as the CTR stocks they replaced.

Not sure why, but they wiggle a little bit.

Well, these reports kinda bring the suck, was planning on ordering an ACS.  I'm diggin how solid the UBR is on my newest build and wanted to replace the M4 stock on my older AR with the ACS, want something solid though.

I would'nt count it out just yet.  I love mine and have had no problems.

I put one on my DD m4 tow weeks ago and it fits great. If anyhting it might be a little tight when you move it.

i would chalk this up to variances in receiver extension diameter.

i have an LMT defender 2000 that came with a SOPMOD. the SOPMOD wobbled around like it was built to commercial spec. I recently picked up another defender 2000 lower with the standard stock and the SOPMOD fit like a glove. It was tight fitting with no wobbles, but moved as smooth as glass.

i've found BCM receiver extensions to be on the "thicker" side and CMT and that one LMT to be on the thinner side. Colts seem to fit well too, my buddy took a VLTOR modstock with him to haiti that wobbled on a CMT extension, he said it fit his M4 really tight and felt like a fixed A2 stock.

While the CTR and ACS can lock up quite solid depending on the tube they are used with (and there is a WIDE variety of specs between the various manufacturers), no collapsible stock is as solid as the UBR.

For what it is worth I have tried both a milspec CTR and ACS on the same VLTOR buffer tube and both locked up solid. Neither will wobble even without the friction lock engaged.

I looked the other night and the tubes were "commercial" according to my calipers they were 1.167". So they sent me the wrong buffer tube, but it still wobbles on that too!

To everyone else, they did send me a commercial size, even though they dont advertise a commercial size on their website.

That's strage, I too found out today that they (Palmetto) also sent me a commercial spec extension as opposed to the .mil-spec tube I ordered.  I order from them all the time and have no doubt they'll make it right but still sucked when I went to throw my new SOPMOD on the lower today.

The box would say MAG371 if it were a commercial unit.

This was me and my brother's first order, we combined our orders to save money on shipping.

This is what was wrong with out orders....

ACS Stock was commercial not milspec
We recieved two commercial buffer assembly kits instead of milspec kits, also they didnt have the buffers
We didnt recieve our two MIAD Full kits, called them today, and we were told we were going to recieve the basic kits, even though we paid for full kits!

Thats a total of 5 things wrong.

While they might be on a string of bad luck, Not sure I will be ordering from them again, especially with what they are doing with the MIAD kits.

I must say though, they already sent replacements for everything, and included another label for us to return the stuff so we dont waste any time waiting for them to recieve the return items.

I got my ACS pretty early on when they didn't have the com spec one out yet. and I know my tube is mil spec. I had a commercial CTR on my commercial buffer and it locked up SOLID. my ACS locks up to the point where it wont wiggle front to back but it will rotate a tiny bit side to side. its a little annoying but not really a big deal. its still a great stock for the money.

Mine locks up good and tight.

The only wiggle i have is when the stock is completely collapsed, which is very minor. Being 6'2'' i don't shoot from that position anyway so it doesn't matter. At any of the other positions it doesn't move at all. It's the most rock solid stock (collapsible) i've ever tested. Friction lock works really well.

FTR, i have a BCM Upper/Lower combo....

I'm not quite sure I'm following what you're saying on the MIADs?  They just told you tough luck you're going to have to keep the basic kit?  Sorry to hear about your bad experience.  I've ordered from them countless times and they are one of my go to vendors.  This is the second order of mine that has had something wrong but I do realize mistakes happen and Joe is always quick to fix it for me.

Im not the one who talked to the guy on the phone, my brother did as we made an order together. basically he was told we were getting the basic kits. We ordered the full kits and i have the packing slip to prove it. (The MIAD kits were missing from our order to begin with), he said that the person on the phone said it was being shipped and that they wouldnt beable to get us the full kits. I was shocked that the price wasnt lowered, even though its a "lower value" kit.
