I think Ionbond and Ionbond complete BCG's Boron coatings are hard to beat. I have two Ionbond complete BCG's and they are awesome. Chrome would likely be more durable as well. I was told that the ak lighting bolts are ion coated if so my 120 grit AO make quick work of it.... But I have know Idea if it was really ION ... If any one would like to send me a bolt to test ( for one day) with my media blaster I would love to try it. But a hard chrome or nickel plating would be money well spent. Like a Y/M NM Bolt. |

Well I suppose a blast cabinet would roach most any coating or surface treatment if given enough time. However, after about 1K on one of BCM's ionbonded BCG's and 2K on another there is very little wear - much less than a phosphated unit. Also, everything is easier to clean. I don't know anything about ak lighting bolts - who makes them? |
