I bought ambi's from Fulton Armory, Armilite, and Spike's.
They all look the same.

They all work well and install the same way, replace the standard safety and use a hex screw to attach the right side lever.

Use a drop of blue loctite on the screw, they work loose after a while.

+1
They are cleaner looking than the other ones that use a hex screw on the outside of the right lever.

I have owned DPMS, Bushmaster, and CMT/Stag.  Of those three, the Stag had the best feel during function, as the other two felt very gritty.

I have NO experience with the RRA safety, but if I ever needed another, I might give it a try since it gets high marks here.

Another +1 for the RRA ambi selector.

I have several from different makers. They all look the same except for the RRA and bushmaster. The bushmaster looks like crap with the little roll pin holding and screw the side on but it works ok. I have 1 RRA and while it is cleaner looking I don't like the little set screw inside the action. Should it come out it may lock up the trigger group since it will be floating around loose. Yes. the ones with the big countersunk screw holding the side on don't look as nice but I will go with those since it the screw falls off it won't hinder the function of the rifle.

I am not trying to highjack this thread, but I have a question.

For those who are running ambi, do you have any play in the safety? I have a set on and when it's on "safe" there is a small amount of play up and down. I have tried to tighten it up, but can not figure out why. Could it be my brand of ambi or is there something else I am not seeing or is this normal?

Thanks.

Unclemoak IIRC has some on the EE, he's done some relief machining on the weak side for more comfort. Very happy w/ mine.

It could be either the safety detent nose is too small or the hole for the detent is too big. I have seen detents with all sorts of shapes over the years.

Another cause could be the spring is not putting enough pressure on it but if it works fine in the fire position the spring is fine. Same with the detent itself. If it only has play in the safe position then the hole on the selector is out of spec. While annoying it should be ok as long as it takes some pressure to move ot the fire position.

I have used Bushmaster, RRA and DPMS with good results.  The LMT I recently got is simply outstanding.

Another vote for the LMT (I have the auto version, no play)

Do you want an ambi because you are left-handed?  Or just for ease of ops?

If you are left-handed, get the Stag LH safety.  It is only on the right side of the receiver leaving the trigger finger unimpeded by the tail of the safety hitting your finger.

Colt selectors are reversible as well.  I've got a few of these...I'm a lefty
I'm waiting for one of Troy's new ambi selectors that I'm anxious to try.

I have the RRA Star.  Some people don't like it, because they say it interfers with their trigger finger.  For me, it gives me a tactile indicator of it's position.  I can feel it, but it does not bother me.

Had a RRA Ambi switch.
You can read all about it here.

No returend e-mails or calls from RRA either.  Way to back up your product guys!

I'll ditto the LMT and add another one that I'm very happy with - JP Enterprises.  Pricey but very nice.  You can go with levers on both sides or just stick with one side.  I tried the one side only but I have found it easier to disengage it with my thumb on the right side and re-engage it with my trigger finger on the left.

+1 for the JP enterprises setup.  It also has the ability to adjust it to the trigger.

How about a modular one that allows you to mix and match?
