| SO..I UNDERSTAND THE LE UPPERS ARE BUTTON RIFLED NOT COLD HAMMERED FORGED...WHATS THAT MEAN AS FAR AS ACCURACY, FUCNTION BARREL LIFE ETC? THE PRICE IS ATTRACTIVE BUT NOT IF ITS JUNK...ANYONE HAVE ONE OR ANY OPINIONS? |
| Absolutely nothing wrong with the barrel Spikes uses, in fact it's actually one of the best in the business. Button rifled 4150 barrels is what Colt and BCM use on their standard hard use uppers. Pat Rogers even has a standard barreled BCM with more than 30,000 rounds downrange. Hammer forged barrels, while nice, are not needed for the vast majority of shooters. The only real difference I've seen is a slight increase in accuracy with the hammer-forged barrels but otherwise they are both GTG. Right now the Spikes upper is the best deal on the market and easily worth every penny. |
