Need Help identifying a barrel/upper. > Rifles, Uppers, Lowers, Barrels, and more

I need some helping identifying barrel/upper on a seizure gun we have had in our agency's armory. It is an A2 upper, with no markings. The barrel is heavy profile, and has a cast front site/gas block, again no markings. The barrel has "SS 556" stamped in front of the gas block. I'll try to get some pictures up.

Sounds like an Oly barrel. I have one it, is marked as such.
Muzzle " SS "
" 556 " Std FSB
Post Ban HBAR with goofy break of some sort. Shoots well with Goofiness removed. !/9 twist on a Alcoa Forge A2 upper (16"). Lacks bayo lug.

Why don't you shoot it first? Most Oly barrels are shooters. If not, then would you consider sending me the barrel?

ss 556 = stainless steel 5.56 chamber. I think it's worth keeping. At least shoot it to see how it does. Mine was pretty consistent and accurate with 55gr plinking ammo

Keep the upper. Oly barrels are great shooters. Better than a lot out there.

Im not a big Oly fan, but we have a 16" SS 556 upper that is very accurate and reliable. If it works, why trash it?
